Lindsey Bear does Taveuni Fiji

I am such a lucky bear, with kind friends who take me all over the place like earlier this year when I got to go to Taveuni island in Fiji.

It was a long flight out to Taveuni, well 4 flights exactly as I went Manchester, Heathrow, Viti Levu (Fiji's main island) then on a very small plane out to Taveuni.

Taveuni is known as the garden island of Fiji and is reputed to be one of the most beautiful. From what I have seen so far I would agree with that.

Everyone is really nice here and made us very welcome, the people who look after Makaira, the accommodation we are staying in, came to sing to us when we arrived.

John who is one of the owners went fishing and caught a yellow fin tuna which he then cooked for us for dinner, it was the nicest fish I have ever eaten.

I was also given this rather wonderful flower garland to wear when we arrived, I think they were expecting a slightly larger bear. But I think I carried it off quite well all the same.

Do you think the sun glasses were a bit too much though?

Well a bear can get quite tired after a long flight. I think I will just have a little snooze in this hammock.

Tomorrow I think I might go and explore the island tomorrow, I understand a rather famous film was made on the island, staring someone called Koo Stark!!!
